Go Fido! Cambridge Dog Owners Push for More Off-Leash Options

A friend of mine who lives in the suburbs of Portland, Maine just got a dog. Within a week, she had met more than ten of her neighbors while out walking Josie — she had been living in the same house for over a year, and hadn’t met any of them previously. As far as I’m concerned, this is one of the biggest arguments for cities encouraging responsible park use by dog owners — it builds community in a way nothing else that I know does. That’s why I’m happy to see how much attention the issue is getting these days in Cambridge.
