Most of you are probably wondering what I’m even talking about, since not many people recognize this place by name, though you probably know it on sight… Lafayette Plaza is that great little park/open space seating area at the fork of Mass Ave and Main Street in Area 4 between Central and Kendall. Home to Cafe Luna, Desi Dhaba, Pu Pu Hot Pot and of course, Toscanini’s, this little triangular space is at its best in the summer when people fill up the tables and benches, and the music pours out from the open windows of Cafe Luna. And for the next two months, it will be even better, as it becomes the Thursday evening venue for Central Square’s free outdoor concert series (Friday concerts will be held at the plaza where Mass Ave and Magazine Street meet). July’s performances range from chamber music by the Cambridge Symphony Orchestra to rock bands sponsored by The Middle East. Talk about diversity!
And if you’re in the area this weekend, you should check out the…
