Both Cambridge and Somerville will be honoring fallen Veterans and those currently serving overseas with ceremonies and parades this weekend. Here’s a peek at what’s going on — the links will take you to more info on the events as well as traffic detours and parking restrictions.
SATURDAY, May 29
9 a.m. at Cambridge Cemetery: American flags will be placed at the graves of Veterans buried in the war lots.
SUNDAY, May 30
8 a.m. at American Legion Post #19, 124 Highland Ave in Somerville: celebrations begin with a procession placing wreathes on monuments.
1:00 p.m. at Somerville City Hall: Parade departs, continuing down Highland Ave to the Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Teele Square.
MONDAY, May 31
9:30 a.m. at Cambridge Common: Cambridge’s parade begins, proceeding through Harvard Square, down Mount Auburn Street to Cambridge Cemetery on Coolidge Ave.
