Cambridge Courthouse Update: Neighborhood Group Supports Mixed Use Proposal

In my opinion, and am guessing the opinion of most East Cambridge residents, almost anything would be an improvement on the hideous concrete monstrosity that was formerly the Cambridge courthouse, and is still partially in use as a jail. However, with three big developers vying for the property, the East Cambridge Planning Team neighborhood group is endorsing the option that would remove the top four floors of the building (the jail part) and turn the remainder into a mix of residential, office & retail space — obviously, with a major facelift. The developer proposing this option is HYM Investment Group, the group behind the NorthPoint complex on the other side of Monsignor O’Brien.
